The Julie Shrine
Julie (now Julie Staniford) is my wonderful and enigmatic wife. She is working as a proof reader at the moment as well as writing a novel in her spare time. I'm not allowed to know the plot yet but I do know that it's a romance and that it's probably going to be set in the English Regency period. However, that is all I know! Julie is rather fond of mystery :-)
Julie likes:
- Hot water bottles
- Blankets
- Nicely alphabetised videos
- Romance novels
- Cold custard
Julie doesn't like:
- Townies
- Cheese
- Bob Marley (Much to my disgust)
- Untidiness
- Casablanca
- Hot custard
Here is a picture of Julie when we went to Mount Olympus:
And here she is visiting some ruins in Paphos on honeymoon:
Here's Julie and our friend the lovely Lisie.

Do you know Fay Staniford, lived in Childwall, Liverpool in the mid-1950's, when we were both about 17 ?Posted By: Colin RylandShe came to a fabulous ball with me one winter's night, a very glamorous evening after which we walked miles to her home, than I had to walk home more miles to my house from hers between 3am/4am. We never met again, for reasons I cannot remember. It's all a bit of glass slipper story.
I have been safely married for 47 years now, so it's not quite like the glass slipper situation, but I have always wondered what she did for the rest of her life. I've never heard the family name Staniford again since then - and I've never met another Ryland, either.
