Bio

My name is Ben Staniford as you may possibly have guessed by now from the sleek, snazzy banner on all my pages ;-). I grew up in Wallasey, England, and lived with just my Mum and Dad after my elder brother and sister went to university when I was seven. I had a happy childhood and spent my time messing about with Lego and bits of old telephones that my dad found for me back when he was a housing inspector. My Dad, my Mum and my Brother all ended up working in computing and I soon felt the call of the geek. I went to university in Portsmouth back in 1999 and managed to get my course/living expenses paid for by IBM. I've remained living in Portsmouth and still work for IBM in Winchester.

In March 2003 I got married to the lovely Julie and we live in a nice little flat that we are renting from some friends of ours, Ricky and Laura Moorhouse who are off doing missionary work in Uruguay.

Recently Julie and I have been trying to do an impression of Tom and Barbara from the 1970s sitcom "The Good Life". In the last month I have been learning to sew and Julie has been learning how to make stew. It is my ambition, when we finally get a house, to own chickens and invite our friends around for digathons. Bet they can't wait ;-)

Our family was originally known as Staniford before the "I" was dropped in the 1930's by my grandfather. We live in Ohio (USA) and was told our family came from England it believed in the late 1700's to Virginia. Another person in the family thought it should have been the 1600's.

Hey ben, i've been told the "Stanford's" were in Liverpool, when there was a big family argument early 1900. One half of the family divided and put that historic "i" in Also do we have any successful musical Staniford's? Oh i wonder
